Founded by four men that have a successful track record of gang violence prevention, reduction, and mediation over the last 20 years in the Pittsburgh region, Purposed Vision has been created through a formal collaboration with the Energy Innovation Center Institute to help PV develop and implement an innovative next step to launch their efforts, previously done under subcontract with various community organizations and churches.

The Energy Innovation Center Institute (EICI) a 501.c.3 organization, has a 4 year track record of successful employer, industry, and union led workforce development and success skills training. 

​

In the 4 year period ending December, 2019, EICI has worked with 8 regional employers, in 3 industries, 14 local trade and service unions, regional Workforce development Boards, and several foundation, corporations and government agencies to develop, recruit, and implement multiple effective 20 hour training programs.

​

To date, the EICI has graduated over 547 men and women, nearly 93 percent people of color from the most vulnerable neighborhoods in Pittsburgh, with an 84 percent rate of successful graduates getting the jobs they trained for. 

​

Over the 6 different workforce curricula offered, EICI graduates have starting salaries ranging from $15 to over $27 per hour and all receive a good benefits package. 

​

Many of EICI's graduates have received one or multiple promotions since they began work and several are now earning well over $75k per year. 

​

We need regional employers and support organizations to participate by working with the EICI and Purposed Vision on specific workforce programs to help the region's most vulnerable communities have a chance to thrive.
